Step 3: Fill in the registration form<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

This is very simple. All you\u2019ll need is an email address<\/strong> that\u2019s not been previously registered on WeChat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simply fill in your email address, verify it, and create your password. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Confirm account type <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll then be asked to confirm your choice of registering a Service Account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, this is all that\u2019s available to international brands<\/strong>, so there\u2019s not room for any confusion here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5: Register your Official account <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Next, it\u2019s time to register your account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll need to provide: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n
• Your company name<\/li>\n\n\n\n
• Company registration number<\/li>\n\n\n\n
• The administrator\u2019s name (the person who will be running the account)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
• Mobile number of the administrator (which you\u2019ll need to verify)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
• The administrator\u2019s ID card number, passport number or driver\u2019s license number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

  Then, click continue. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Step 6: Fill in your account info <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  At this stage, you\u2019ll need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  \n
  • Choose a name for your WeChat Official account<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Write a bio\/introduction <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Confirm the country your business operates from<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Tip: <\/strong>You should write your bio in Mandarin to make sure your audience understands it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 7: Verify your WeChat Official account<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    After completing your account info, you\u2019ll then have access to the WeChat Official accounts platform.<\/strong> Here, you\u2019ll be able to verify your account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is important, as unverified accounts are deleted after 30 days. <\/strong>They also have limited access to core features, including a verification tick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To verify your account, click on the \u2018WeChat verification\u2019 <\/strong>option under the \u2018Settings\u2019 <\/strong>menu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then, click \u2018Enable\u2019<\/strong> on the verification page you\u2019re taken to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 8: Begin the verification process<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    After clicking \u2018Enable\u2019, you\u2019ll then be prompted to download the verification letter<\/strong>, and begin the formal application process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 9: Complete and sign the verification letter<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    The verification letter will ask you to confirm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
    • Your company name <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A point-of-contact<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The passport number <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Country of citizenship <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The WeChat Account ID<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      It\u2019ll then need to be signed by a legal representative of your team,<\/strong> as well as by the contact person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Be aware that your point-of-contact doesn\u2019t have to be the account administrator<\/strong> you confirmed in step five. It can be if you want it to be, but it\u2019s not a requirement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      You should print the verification letter<\/strong>, sign it, and then scan and send it back into your computer, ready for the next step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 10: Fill in the requested information for verification <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      To verify your company, you\u2019ll need to provide its: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
      • Name <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Company registration number <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Company address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        You\u2019ll also need to upload a scanned copy of your business license<\/strong>, and a copy of the verification letter<\/strong> completed in the previous step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        To verify your point-of-contact, you\u2019ll need to provide: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
        • Their full name <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Mobile number (which will need to be verified via SMS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Landline number <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Email address<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • ID card number, passport number and\/or driver\u2019s license number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          You will also be asked to upload copies of their identification<\/strong> and most recent mobile phone bill.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          All documents must be uploaded in English<\/strong>, and the mobile phone bill needs to include the contact name, phone number, company name, and a minimum of three months payment history.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Step 11: Confirm your account name<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

          At this stage, you\u2019ll be asked to confirm your Official account name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          In the case of a custom name, you must make sure it isn\u2019t a trademarked name held by any other company<\/strong> and isn\u2019t an already-registered account name on WeChat. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          If either of these two requirements aren\u2019t met, your application will be rejected. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Step 12: Choose whether you want an invoice<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

          If you want an invoice for your registration fee, click \u2018E-invoice\u2019<\/strong>. You\u2019ll receive this within 10 days after your account has been verified. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Step 13: Pay the registration fee<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

          Now it\u2019s time to pay the registration fee of $99<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          You can pay this via WeChat Pay or your bank card<\/strong> \u2014 whichever you prefer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Step 14: Review and setup <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

          Over the next couple of weeks, the WeChat team will review your verification application and contact you via phone<\/strong>, during Chinese working hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          If you correctly completed each of the above steps, your Official account will then be verified and ready to go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
