Open WeChat. You will usually find the app on your home screen or in the app drawer. Look for the green icon with two overlapping white chat bubbles.
Tap Discover. It’s at the bottom of the screen.
Touch Moments.
Press the camera icon. It’s under your profile picture, right next to the date. A pop-up window will appear.
Tap Choose image.
If you want to take a new photo or video, tap Use Camera instead, then take or record your Moment.
If this is your first time using Moments, you will see a welcome pop-up window. Read it and tap OK.
Touch a photo or video to select it. A check mark will appear in your upper left corner.
Touch Done. The photo or video will appear on WeChat, ready for editing.
Touch Edit. It’s in the lower left corner.
Select an editing tool to add effects. This is what they do:
Pencil – A freehand drawing tool.
Smiley face: Emoji and stickers.
T: Write anywhere on the photo or video.
Checkerboard – Add a mosaic effect.
Crop Tool: Crop and resize a photo.
Touch Done. You will now see your photo or video attached to a new post.
Write a message. This is optional, but you can tap Say something to attach a message to your Moment.
Touch Location to tag your location. If you don’t want people to know where you are, you can skip this step.
Touch Share to to select a privacy setting. Your Moment is set to public by default. To strengthen your security, select Private (only you), List to share (only some friends) or List Do not share (exclude certain friends), then touch Done.
Tap Mention to tag a friend. This is optional, but can be useful if you want to tag a friend who appears in the photo or video. Your contact list will appear; touch the contacts you want to mention and then touch OK.
