What you should do before deleting your WeChat account？

If you haven’t updated your WeChat for a long time then you need to update the WeChat to the latest version otherwise you won’t find the entrance of Account Cancellation.

There are something you need to know before requesting your WeChat account deletion.

• Backup your data.
  Backup your data if you need it, such as Message History, Contacts, Contents Posted on Moments, Payment History ,and Favorites.
• Let them know you’re not going to use WeChat.
  If there is someone you care about on your WeChat, you should let them know. I recommend you post a message that you‘re going to delete WeChat account on WeChat’s Moments.
  In order to contact them conveniently, you could ask for contact information on other platfom，such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Skype etc.
• You should use your frequently-used device to request cancellation.
  If you’re on a new device then you need to use WeChat on your new device a couple of days or weeks，after then, you can try again.
•  You need to wait at least 24 hours if you’ve attempted to log in WeChat failed more than 10 times.
• Unlink your WeChat to third-party apps and websites.
• You need to cancel your WeChat Pay, if you’ve activated it.

Follow these steps to delete WeChat account.

1. Open your WeChat and tap [Me] in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
2. And then, click on [Settings] button.
3. Go to [Account Security] and click it.
4. Tap [WeChat Security Center].
5. Tap [Account Cancellation] in the bottom of the screen.
6. Click [Request Cancellatioin] button. If your account meet the following requirements, then your will be deleted permanently.

NOTE: once you request cancellation, your account will never get back again. In other words, the cancellation is permanent, all data will be deleted and you can’t change anything to your WeChat account after cancellation.

Before your clicking that button, DO Check your account again. If you failed to delete your WeChat account, then you should do as the instructed and then try again.
After your cancellation you can not get your WeChat account back and you can not delete data that you forget to delete.
